Once home to Col. John Black, a real estate and timber magnate, Woodlawn is a 180-acre historic estate located near Ellsworth, ME. The house is based on a design from Asher Benjamin’s architectural book, the American Builder's Companion. The home's furnishings reflect the tastes of three generations of the Black family. Of particular note is Col. Black's lavish bed, furnished with all the original textiles: It has never left the Black's home. |
