This table is one of a pair of serving tables inspired by a plate in Thomas Sheraton's drawing-book. The primary wood is Swietenia mahogani salvaged from a tree damaged by Hurricane Andrew. The legs are reeded with satinwood feet and tops. The drawer front and sides are satinwood (with redwood burl in the drawer front) crossbanded with Brazilian rosewood; brass galleries and poplar secondary wood. The brass galleries are by Period Furniture Hardware Co. Inc., the lock and escutcheon are by Ball & Ball. The mahogany was oxidized with potassium dichromate and finished with shellac and wax.
