I built this table by following the guidance and example in Tom Heller's and Ron Clarkson's book, Making a Piecrust Tea Table. It is similar to Pl.223 in Horner's Blue Book, Philadelphia Furniture. Although the top is of single board construction, it didn't quite start that way. Shortly after construction of the top commenced, one of my beloved cats knocked it off its unsecured perch. Upon its landing the single board top was split in two. With the help of master cabinet maker George Slack of Warrenton, VA, the top was repaired and the project saved. (See picture.)
