Pie Crust Table

LB Updated
Pie Crust Table

This is a table I made a couple of years ago, and recently entered in the furniture competition at the Dayton Ohio, Artistry in Wood show. I was lucky to win Best of Show, with the table and am quite proud. I have been a woodworker for 30 years, and enjoy making reproductions of early American furniture, and Chippendale style chairs.

The table top is of one piece of crotch mahogany. The board was used to skive off veneer and what was left, when it was too thin to continue cutting, is what I made the top out of.  Mahogany was use 100% for the pedestal and feet.  I used the plan from Tom Heller and Ron Clarkston,"Making a Piecrust Table", Schiffer Publishing ltd., which was very detailed and easy to follow.
