This is a table that I saw in the Philadelphia Museum of Art and fell in love with the elaborate apron. One of the interesting parts of the apron is that its edge is beveled back at a sharp angle, making it seem to be very thin. Viewed from the front, the apron seems flat because of the bevel. It is a nice size for today's home, being perfect for a hall table or a small writing desk. The original had a curly walnut top. I used some crotch figured walnut for mine, being unable to find a good piece of curly walnut.
