This table was made from the same 28" wide board as my other one in the gallery. I don't think I've ever seen an oval pie-crust tea table. It is oval because there wasn't enough left of the board for a round top. Also, because the end of the board that was left was sniped and a little twisted, the top came out a little too thin, so I glued a 1/2" board between the stretchers. The stretchers are attached to the thicker section and are rabbeted on the inside to cover the ends of the added piece. It was stained with aniline dye and varnished.
