Sheraton mahogany and bird's eye maple sideboard.
Bowed center, reeded and fluted legs, cross banded top and bottom rail with holly stringing, cross banded crotch mahogany doors with holly stringing, cockbeaded doors and drawers. The secondary wood is poplar.
The original appears in American Antiques from the Israel Sack Collection, Vol. 2 (#1283), and The Magazine Antiques,September, 1974 p.331. It is a labeled piece from the workshop of Joseph Rawson and Sons, Providence, R. I. The pulls had been changed from lion's head ring pulls to Sheraton knobs in The Magazine Antiques. This piece was scaled down from the original and doors were substituted for doors in the end sections.
