From "Furniture Antiques Found in Virginia" by Carlyle Lynch, pg 42. All joinery was hand cut. This one has drawers on each end. Variations of this include doors on the ends for "shelf" storage. Others may have one big drawer/door in the middle with two small drawers on each end. What ever the lady likes!

This piece appeared in Fine Woodworking's Current Work, April 2001 (no. 148) pg 86.

These were called Huntboards because the game from the morning hunt was often served on the piece. They are "elbow height" (41" + -) so the men could stand around the piece and eat from them. They were often found on the back porch. Some were pine and painted.
