The primary wood is cherry, the secondary wood is poplar, used in the drawers and runners, and the back is pine.
The lower case side pieces are single boards. All drawers are hand dovetailed front and back. The drawer dividers are dovetailed into the case. The upper case is also dovetailed top and bottom.
The finish is oil followed by orange shellac and one coat of 10 degree lacquer. The hardware is from Horton Brasses.
The piece draws inspiration from Eldred Wheeler, Norm Vandal and an article in Woodworkers Journal magazine.
