The design of this piece was based on the article in 2017 American Furniture by 2013 Cartouche winner Will Neptune and Steve Brown. Will and Steve are the first people in over 200 years to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that period furniture makers back in the day, did absolutely use the classical orders to design furniture. Using Will’s article, I produced the attached drawing based on the Ionic Order. I have been able to verify over 20 dimensions from this design to the high chest at Yale. All but one dimension is less than 1/8” from the original.  I also reviewed member David Boeff’s YouTube videos which explain many interesting construction details.
