A Chippendale Block Front Chest made of Cherry and Poplar finished with Danish Oil and PolyUrethane. The dimensions are 38" W x 30" H x 22" D. Built in Grand Junction, Colorado.

This piece was inspired by Glen Huey's "Illustrated Guide to Building Period Furniture". I have always wanted a block front chest and when I came across this plan I thought it was the one to make. To date this was the most difficult piece I build. The hardest part for me was forming and sanding the front of the chest. I just took my time and went slowly and got through it fine. The piece also went a long way in helping me improve on my dovetails. I am pleased with the outcome, I think it looks pretty good.
