This is a modified version of a replica of George Washington's partner's desk. My friend inherited the desk and sent me pictures of measurements. I adapted some of the features to be more "federal" in style (i.e. tapered legs, veneers, etc.). The desk is made of sapele and tiger maple. It was made with a combination of machines and hand tools and finished with shellac.
