Shelf Clock

My piece is a copy of a David Woods shelf clock currently in the collection at Old Sturbridge Village. The curatorial staff at Old Sturbridge Village allowed me to measure and photograph the clock which was on display.

 

Woods worked in Newburyport, Mass from about @1785 to 1825. The clock is built from mahogany, white pine, and crotch mahogany veneer. The movement is time only mechanical clock movement.
