What are you working on????

Cherry Queen Anne double pedestal extention table with set in castors. Dog on it I wish I had a final example to show. I hope to have one soon.

Jeff, Looks like you could put a nail set to good use on some of those nails in the floor!!
Wish I was able to volunteer to help you!!

This shell project was inspired from a trip to Spain that I took in November, 2013 and represents a scallop shell, the symbol of St. James and the Way of the Camino. Shell was carved from white pine, the frame was lathe-turned from 6/4 walnut. What wasn't gilded was painted in a satin black paint.

After 5.5 years working on my kitchen, I am now working on getting my hand tools all sharp and things tuned up...

Just finished two small pine mule chests patterned after one that Skinners sold for $22,000 a few years back. Pics as soon as the paint is dry.

I just started working on a replica of this chest of drawers from Western Mass, c. 1700 - 1720. Very cool piece with a lot going for it (and a lot going on).

And my very patient wife is still waiting for her Federal-style walnut sideboard with holly stringing in the legs, fan inlays on drawers. It is glued up, but still need to veneer a top and make the drawers. Maybe some day...

Here is the description - I had "challenges posting this last night".  I made this music stand to commemorate the ordination of my brother.  It is copied from an 18th century piece made in England in 1750 that the DeWitt Museum in Colonial Williamsburg owns.  Bruce Leonard gave me the idea of contacting the Curator, Tara Chircirda, of the DeWitt.  My SAPFM membership gave me instant credibility.  She gave me complete access to handle, measure and photograph the music stand.  The original is Mahogany with slipper feet.  I made mine from walnut and carved my first ball and claws.  Inscribed around the band is Wendell B. Rhodes ordained April 25, 2014.  The band holds a square nut.  The thumb screw presses against a hinge hidden in the interior of the pedestal that presses against the square rod holding the stand at the desired height. I glued splines from the underside of the ankles to strengthen them as recommended by Will Neptune.
