The SNEC will host a two hour talk and demonstration by Mary May. Mary will be discussing methods of transferring designs to wood, techniques of clamping so your carvings do not get damaged (or your precious gouges), and basic carving techniques to get you started on your project. She will also discuss and demo the carving of a traditional Acanthus leaf. The meeting is May 3rd, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking (http://schoolofwoodworking.com) in Manchester CT. Pizza and drinks will be served.
