Sterling silver hardware

Has anyone ever seen an antique piece that was fittted with sterling silver hardware ?

I was thinking of something small like a knife box, writing desk or tea caddy.

There a a fair number of European objects with silver mounts, but this is the most well known American piece. The catalogue is widely available, surprisingly i wasn't able to find a photo online.

Silver mounts were certainly used, particularly on small pieces of furniture and boxes etc., but more common, of the white metals used, was paktong.
 
In the John Townsend book by the Met ,there is a secretary I believe by Job Townsend with silver hardware.  It does look really nice.
