SAPFM Upgrading Website
November 14, 2018

What is Happening and why:
SAPFM has been working to transition our website to a different underlying architecture.  It will give us more flexibility and allow most of our maintenance on the site to be done by Keith Doney our new webmaster. We will still retain Gabe Smith and Dave Gurand to help in their areas of expertise on an hourly basis.  But going forward we will rely on them less.
The Plan
Our plan is to take the site down on Wednesday, November 14 at 9am EDT. The site will be off line for approximately one hour.  We might prolong that to allow us more time for testing to confirm everything was properly transferred over.  The key information being transferred is your membership information.  We feel comfortable in all our testing and that this should go smoothly but there is always a chance something will not be right.  We expect to be able to resolve any issues quickly.
What should I do?
You should logon to your member profile and confirm all your information is correct.  One key are that many have failed to maintain is their email for their profile.  Unfortunately, that is our primary way to communicate with you.  When we send an email and it is invalid, we have no practical to reach you.  We are posting this on the website as well as sending an email.  Hopefully you will check and confirm your email to avoid any problems going forward.  You should also update any other information in your profile as needed.  You should do this prior to November 13.
If your membership is going to expire prior to November 15, you might want to renew it sooner than later to avoid any possible interruption in your membership.
What else will happen:
We will stop any renewal notification and membership processing 24 hours prior to this outage.  We suggest that you do not do any changes to your membership information after November 13 at 9AM EDT.  If you do, there is a chance it will not be reflected when the new site comes back up.
What to expect:
You will see very limited changes on the site.  There will be  a few visible differences, but most of the difference are “under the hook” and in the back ground.
What if something does not work?
If you encounter a problem after the site comes up, please let either Ken ([email protected]) or Keith ([email protected]) know.  We will attempt to respond as quick as possible. But please be patient with us.  We are volunteers trying to make this site as good as possible but we have limited resources.
