Rehab Wooden Fillister Plane

I am looking for advice on how to rehab a wooden moving fillister plane. One of the fence screws goes in at an angle (not drilled square) and therefore does not make good contact to hold the fence. Since the rest of the plane is in very good condition, I would appreciate advice on how would you repair?

If not a nice old tool, I would have already drilled out the screw hole, pluged and redrilled/threaded hole square to body.

Thanks in advance to any tips

Bob- I've fixed them by moving both screw holes enough to get new wood. Since they're under the fence, you don't see them-Al

Why don't you plug and redrill the hole, if that doesn't work you can always move the fence and make 2 new holes.
