An associate provided the attached photos of Queen Anne style chairs with painted decorations. They belong to a set of two eagle-arm arm chairs and six side chairs. He indicates they have been in his family for a long time and wonders if they might belong in a museum. He desires to know if they may be valuable period chairs ( I don't recall ever seeing reference to painting decoration on period QA chairs) and to locate a good appraisal source in the Washington DC area.
I would appreciate comments on likelyhood that they are valuable chairs, and sources of appraisal. Also, might Winterthur provide an appraisal service?
Thanks for your help.
