President's Oval Office

From time to time I see pictures of Obama's Oval Office. There is a tall case clock there.  It appears to be an imposing piece.  Does anyone know anything about it?  Origin?  Maker?  Dimensions? Etc, etc? I do not want to reproduce it; I'm just curious.

Google has some basic info when I search for 'oval office tall clock', including this: http://www.sapfm.org/forum/index.php?topic=879.0 and this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oval_Office which says: "A large case clock, commonly called a grandfather clock, built in Boston by John and Thomas Seymour, c. 1795-1805, stands in the northeast portion of the room."

I posted a question about it right after Mr. Obama was sworn in.  I saw it in some pics of his first day in office.  There were a couple of replies in to my inquiry in the Clocks section...

I'd like to build one like it but smaller.  i doubt we'll ever live in a house that would accommodate something that big.

These pictures were just on the web yesterday.  I guess they just redecorated the oval office.  Not real crazy about the sofa/coffee table/lamp selection.  I much prefer Jeb Bartlett's oval office.

Many thanks to all who responded.  Somehow I forgotten that Tony had touched on the same subject earlier and that it was a Seymour clock. Memory is not my long suit these days!  Thanks again.  John McAlister
