Passing of Jim Conley

David Conley

My dad passed away peacefully on November 4, 2021 at the age of 89.  He always enjoyed making period furniture for as long as I can remember.  His favorite style was Philadelphia Chippendale.

He hooked me into making period furniture by inviting me to the very first Woodworking in the 18th Century conference in Colonial Williamsburg in 1999.  Like many others, we joined SAPFM the following year.  His membership number was 100.

Jim and Ellen were regulars at the SAPFM Conferences and local SAPFM Chapter Meetings.  They made many, many wonderful lifelong friendships through SAPFM.

Dad will be missed.

David,
VERY Sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a wonderful man and I'm glad we got to know him, and your Mother, at CW, and in the VA chapter meetings. I regret that he lived nearby but I never got the chance to visit him and see his shop.

Regards,
John Davis

our prayers and condolences to you and your family. Met and sat with Jim and his wife many times at Williamsburg. Nice people
