"Inaugural Midwest Antiques Forum to be held in Lancaster, Ohio May 13-15.
For the first time, museum curators, scholars, collectors, and members of the antiques trade will gather to share research on the early decorative arts of the American Midwest. The Forum will be held May 13-15 at the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio, located at 245 East Main Street in Lancaster, Ohio, in conjunction with the Center?s current exhibition, Equal in Goodness: Ohio Decorative Arts 1788-1860. It's about time i say for interested folks to speak out on the decorative arts of the midwest. This first ever forum seems to have some heavy hitters like Brock Jobe on their speaking list. GOOD LUCK! to all involved in trying to bring midwestern art to it's rightful place among american decorative art, It's lived in the shadows long enough.
