Looking for possible Mentor around Lynchburg, VA

Hello all,

I am new to woodworking and have grown a huge appreciation for period furniture. For the past few years I have been doing my homework and learning about the craft. I am finally in a position where I can build a shop and begin this wonderful hobby. I will be starting the shop sometime this summer. I am in Lynchburg, VA and am willing to travel a couple of hours. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to provide some guidance and mentorship? I am 33 years old and want to start off correctly on this endeavor. I joined SAPFM last year and missed the local Chapter meeting. I know that is a good place to connect, but I haven't seen when a meeting may occur this year. Instead of randomly emailing people in the area, I thought this may work better to find someone with genuine interest in mentoring. Thanks for reading this and I am in deep admiration for the work you do!
