Will hide glue stick to wood that has a finish on it?

One of the beneficial properties of Hide glue,    Besides being reversible, is that it won't stick to finish, unless the finish is scuffed up real good,And then the holding power is  not very good. And if the finish pulls off, you have a bigger problem.  Randy

Think about Hide glue as surface to surace contact. Any contamanent between the surfaces will cause reflection.
