Hello to all.
My name is David and I live in Sydney, Australia. An elderly American friend of mine owns 2 pieces of furniture. We are told they are 'American Period'. They have a very interesting provenance. They were owned by William B Mayo who lived in Detroit and then 'willed' to my friend on his death. Mayo was a friend of, and the Chief Power engineer to Henry Ford (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_B._Mayo ).
But I digress. Would you be so kind as to have a look at the attached.  Any ideas on period/age/wood and maybe even value(?) would be very very much appreciated. Further photos can be obtained if they coud assist. I thank you in anticipation for your time. I have posted a photo of the desk in the relevant forum also.
Kind regards
David
