I recently purchased a book that many SAPFM members might be interested in: Federal Style Patterns 1780 - 1820 by MaryBeth Mudrick and Lawrence D. Smith.
The book is a pattern resource for woodworkers interested in reproducing architectural and furniture moldings in the American Federal style. It includes hundreds of drawings of cornices, architraves, ornament, door casings, and the like, and also includes a companion CD with all of the illustrated drawings in electronic form (pdf, PowerCadd, DXF (AutoCad), and Postscript). There's also a short section on proportioning, the golden section ratios, and Benjamin variations.
I think the book may be out of print (originally published in 2005), but it's readily available second-hand from the usual sources (Amazon, Alibris, BookFinder, etc...) at reasonable prices.
