Fall meeting 2008

Hello Everyone;

Yes, there is...  Time has really flown by, and I haven't finished getting my shop organized, but I am still planning on having the meeting in my shop in Bloomington, unless someone has an alternative that works better.  The only two choices I have as far as dates would be the 11th of October or the 1st of November.  I will e-mail everyone this weekend, and we can finalie the agenda...

All –

Plans are now complete for our first meeting of the Carolinas chapter of SAPFM.  The meeting will be held Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 1 – 2 in Greensboro at Jim Gerken’s shop (see link to a map below).  It looks like we have a great line-up of speakers and presenters.  Agenda below.

***Reminder – please be sure to bring a chair (if you want to sit down).  If you have an extra, please bring it along.***

Nov. 1 –
10:00 AM – introductions and brief discussion on future plans
11:00 AM -  Show and Tell (bring examples  of your period work to show the group)
12:00 PM  - Break for lunch
01:00 PM – Mary May – acanthus leaf carving
02:00 PM – Mary May – demonstration on sharpening carving chisels
03:00 PM – Mary May hands on sharpening (bring your stones and chisels if you would like to get some instruction in sharpening)

Nov. 2 –
08:00 AM – John McAlister – carving a ball & claw foot
10:00 AM – Bob Bernard – shell carving demonstration

11:00 AM – Bob Mc Carthy – casting brass lions paw feet
12:00 – 12:30 – discussion and wrap-up

I guess John is not going to set up a fall meeting since it is already the end of November. Maybe we can have a spring meeting if anybody wants to take charge.

You guys are confusing me. Are you talking about the Indiana chapter or the Carolinas chapter and if it is the Carolinas chapter why is it posted on the Indiana page?

John has had some real problems getting his shop going.  We are looking at a Indy meeting and I will keep you all informed  Tom
