E.E.L.: The Tool Collection of Gene Landon

I've assembled a book of Gene Landon's tool collection which were auctioned by Martin J. Donnelly in 2011 and 2012. All 306 lots are included along with the winning bid. (I hear the tool market was down due to the poor economy, and you'll see some lots that went for fantastic prices.) You can preview and download a free pdf copy at:

I've tried to organize the book in a manner similar to Inspiration: Gene Landon and Seven Hearths. I will try to get a hard copy version uploaded to Lulu within a week for any "hard core" Gene fans who would like a purchase a copy.

Enjoy,
Tom

Tom, Just down loaded the Tool Collection and will read it on the plane next week. Thanks

Just a thought, I was just checking my membership expiration date and noticed that Gene is no longer listed as a member of SAPFM. I wonder what it would take to make Gene a member emeritus permanently?

Someone posted a comment at FWW website suggesting SAPFM rename the "cartouche award" the "Gene Landon" award. Any thoughts or comments on this?

I would be against this, there are many deserving recipients that are worthwhile in their own right. They do not need an award named for another. The name "cartouche" is sufficient and appropriate as is.

I've now made a hardcover version of this book available for purchase. My main goal was to have a copy for myself and Gene's wife, but as a few others have expressed interest I've made it public.

There is a 20% off coupon for lulu orders good until Dec. 14:
20% off your entire order. Use code FELICITAS at checkout. Offer expires December 14 at 11:59 PM.

Perhaps the person suggesting this didn't know the origin of the award's design.

The actual cartouche from which the bronze is cast crowns a Philadelphia tall case clock built by Gene Landon.
