The Society's website has a new home. Over the past year a small group of volunteers has rebuilt sapfm.org, with one aim: to put the work of this Society — the furniture, the writing, the talks, and the members who make them — within easy reach.
Here is what you will find today, and a look at what is still to come.
The collection
You can now browse over seven thousand pieces of American period furniture, drawn from seven museum collections, gathered into a single viewer. Zoom in on a carved knee, look at proportions and construction, and see how a piece is put together. For many of us this will be the most-used corner of the site.

Members' work
The Member Gallery has a new layout and improved search/view/zoom features.

Publications
The Publications section brings together American Period Furniture, the annual journal; Pins & Tales, the members' magazine; and the reference card catalog — years of the Society's writing, in one place and searchable.

Videos
Recorded presentations from conferences and chapter meetings are gathered under Videos, to watch any time.

The 2026 Conference
This year's annual gathering returns to the Connecticut River Valley, October 2–5. The program is on the Conference page, and registration opens July 4.

Chapters and the Forum
Find your regional chapter, and join the conversation on the Forum, where members trade questions, progress, and advice — now reachable with your SAPFM sign-in.

Still to come
This is a first release. The site will grow steadily over the coming months — more of the Society's work brought online, and new tools for our editors and chapter leaders close behind.
How it was built
Like the furniture it serves, this site was made by hand, by volunteers, and it will keep being refined. If something looks wrong or could work better, we would like to hear about it on the contact page. Have a look around — and if you are a member, sign in to see everything.
