Again this year we are offering a special program for spouses, in cooperation with Old Sturbridge Village. On Saturday two tours are available, a garden tour in the morning and a quilt tour in the afternoon. Both tours include lunch in the village. Spouses can sign up for either tour or both. These tours are limited to 25 participants each. Our spouse programs have filled up quickly in the past.
|10:00 A.M. Gardening Tour "Visit the Old Sturbridge Village gardens and learn about favorite herbs, flowers, and vegetables from the past. Guided by a staff historian, participants will visit Village gardens to learn about how and why the gardens were planned and designed, why plants were selected, and what the village is doing to keep nineteenth-century plant varieties and gardening techniques alive today."|
12:00 Lunch – Upscale box lunch (with the rest of the conference attendees- pick up in the Garden View Room with additional tables on the patio, weather permitting.
2:00 P.M. Quilting Tour"A Timeline of Quilts from the Old Sturbridge Village Collection" Guests will join an OSV expert for a closer look at some highlights from Old Sturbridge Village's quilt collection and learn about quilting in the 19th century.
Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. The tour groups will assemble at the Visitor Center fifteen minutes prior to the tour time to meet their tour guide.
