Optional Behind the Scenes Tours
Sunday Afternoon at Old Sturbridge Village $15.00
Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour through Collection Storage. Curators will pull out a selection of tools, furniture, and historical documents for closer inspection by the participants. More than three-quarters of OSV’s collection is in storage, and this is an opportunity to explore items not normally on view. These tours will be limited to 10 people per tour and will last approximately 45 minutes. Tours will be scheduled to begin on the hour beginning at 1:00pm – last tour at 4:00pm
When you are not in the Collection Storage you should plan on visiting the rest of Old Sturbridge Village. Members of the curatorial staff will also be stationed at key exhibits throughout the village to answer your questions as you tour the rest of OSV.

Furniture Study at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art - $30.00
Join Alyce Perry Englund, the Richard Koopman Associate Curator of American Decorative Arts of the Wadsworth Atheneum, for a special examination of deconstructed Connecticut furniture followed by a private tour of the newly renovated furniture storage. Due to security restrictions space is limited for this event (15 total).
Meet at the Avery building entrance located on Atheneum Square Road, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford, Connecticut.
Time--10:30 to 12noon

- (10 min) compare Blin chests
- (20 min) case construction of Eliphalet Chapin-Marshall chest of drawers
- (20 min) case construction of Aaron Chapin sideboard

- 11:30-12 noon (30 min) tour through storage
Driving time from Sturbridge is approximately 40 minutes
Park behind the Atheneum or at the Hartford Public Library parking facility (1/2 block south of the Wadsworth)
