Report on May 2 meeting
« on: May 10, 2009, 09:50:28 PM »
The May 2 meeting at The Landing was very enjoyable. The weather was cooperative so it was nice to be outside. We visited several of the buildings to assess future projects for our group demonstrations on August 8 and 9. The projects we found to be the most viable at this time were a work bench base for an old bench top that Kevin Alto would use when working at the site. Some small boxes for general use by the interpreters, a repair and reproduction of an old yarn winder and making sash for some of the old buildings.
It was civil war weekend so there were re-enactors camped about adding to the flavor of the place.
Other Business:
Members of our group will be running a demonstration booth at the WIA conference in St. Charles, IL on August 14-16, a woodworking Olympics or “Beat the Master” competition, we are looking for help, if you are interested contact me,    [email protected]
We will also be demonstrating at The Woodworking Shows in St. Paul, MN on Dec. 4-6.
