WorkSharp system.

If anyone is interested, I was recently able to test and review the new Worksharp Sharpening system. It is made by the same folks as the Drill Doctor. The full review is in the current issue (Sept 07) of Woodcraft magazine.

The system is really easy and quick to set up and use. There is a great adjustable toll holder for flat tools that allows for very repeatable results. But the best feature is the slotted sharpening wheel that allows you to sharpen curved tools (gouges and such) being able to actually see the point of contact! I have been very happy with the system.

Just thought I'd pass along my experience with it for those of you who might be looking at it. Feel free to ask specific questions if you'd like.

What are the pros and cons between the Work Sharp 3000 system and the Veritas® Mk.II Power Sharpening system? 

Both systems seem to be very simular, but their prices are very different ($200 vs $360 respectively).

I'm not terribly familiar with the Veritas system, but it seems to lack the preset guide system that the Worksharp system has. It also lacks the slotted wheel that allows for sharpening curved tools while seeing the actual point of contact.

Since I wrote my review of it for WoodCraft magazine, there have been several reviews, the latest of which is in this month's Popular Woodworking. They rave about it too.
