Woodworking Workshops of the Shenandoah Valley are offering for our March 8th  - 12th, 2010 a, hands on, class on building a slant top desk which was made in the Winchester Virginia area 1798. This in depth study of a lower Shenandoah valley piece will be a construction gold mine. Traditional joinery which can be used on countless pieces over your life time. I feel unsurpassed joinery ( which I would be happy to discuss further)Chippendale construction to it's extreme with many Federal features from the 1790's. I guess with 40 years to practice you should figure Chippendale construction out. The old dog rule. With some new tricks. This class, as with most of our classes, will be limited to 5 joiners. This is an extremely involved project with much to finish at home. Please remind me of your SAPFM discount. I am also offering 2 weekend classes as follow up classes. Interior and secret compartments on one weekend and the bookcase as an additional weekend and Yes this is the desk we discussed at the SAPFM Winter forum a few years ago. I do expect this class to fill up fast since I only have a few spaces left.
