How about in an upstairs bedroom?

Well I spent the morning  getting  lumber out of the basement, this afternoon wil be moving the hand tools and planes, saws etc. I'll cross my fingers with the table saw, lathe bandsaw etc. Thats the down fall of storing wood in the house, with a basement workshop. I'm on the south shore of long island and we might get a little rain today/nite (ha ha). I quess this will force me to clean the shop! but it will put me behind in my progects.
They say to evacuate by 5pm but how can I leave all that curly maple and wide walnut?

A little late to reply, but how did you fair? I hope it missed you, or at least wasn't to bad.

We got away fairly easy, just a little water in the basement from ground water, a few branches down from neighbors trees, and short outages of power, no more than an hour. We did much better than some neighbors around us.
Now to put all the tools and wood back!  All the time carrying the wood and tools up stairs I kept hearing from my wife: "thats it! No more buying wood or tools!!!"
( I guess I'll have to wait until that blows over too.)
Thanks for asking.

Glad to hear you guys did well.  I am in CT and last march my shop had 18" of water on the floor.  Learned my lesson and cleaned it up really well for Irene.  Of course, after all that, no flooding at all!  Better safe than sorry, and I ended up with a clean shop as well.
