Ben has been busy arranging a wonderful day at the Chowan County Courthouse. We will be meeting in the upstairs ballroom, this room in particular is largest paneled room in the south. Edenton was also one of the lead producers of furniture in the south and the lead center of furniture making in northeast North Carolina. In other words a prime location for our meeting.
We will begin with a meet and greet beginning at 9 am. Lectures will begin promptly at 9:30.
Lecturers:
Steve Dietrich will provide an in depth discussion on cellarettes, and their construction
Tom Sears will show us how he recreates old finishes on new pieces.
Butch Harris is going to upholster some chair frames and talk about early upholstery practices.
To be named presenter on Edenton furniture.
A discussion on wainscot, raised panels, and doors.
and finally, a local presenter with intimate knowledge of our meeting location.
A catered lunch will be provided, cost will be $15-20.
