Our group demonstration is on August 8 and 9. The projects we found to be the most viable at this time were a work bench base for an old bench top that Kevin Alto would use when working at the site. Some small boxes for general use by the interpreters, a repair and reproduction of an old yarn winder and making sash for some of the old buildings. Just be bring something to work on and share in the camaraderie.
Our meeting will be at the Landing at 6:00 on Saturday after the meal that they serve the volunteers, YUM!
Other Business:
Members of our group will be running a demonstration booth at the WIA conference in St. Charles, IL on August 14-16, it is a woodworking Olympics or “Beat the Master” competition, we are looking for help, if you are interested contact me,    [email protected]  you can see a bit of what it is about on my blog at http://schoolofwood.com/node/41
We will also be demonstrating at The Woodworking Shows in St. Paul, MN on Dec. 4-6.

Stay sharp!

Things were a bit slow at The Landing. I was able to complete a 31 x 31 window sash with 6 lights, Jim Van Hoven and Kevin Alto assembled a base for a work bench, Tom Dengler got a good start on a joint stool starting from the log and Dennis Chilcote made some wonderful brooms of which I now own one. All hand tool work. Hot and humid was the order of the day. We were well fed by the people there and enjoyed ourselves.
Now we are off to St. Charles for the WIA Handtool Olympics on Thursday morning. Out of the frying pan, into the fire!
Hope to see you there.
Mike
