Dear Fellow Woodworker and SAPFM Members,We hope you and your Family are healthy and by now have been able to get your vaccination. We look forward to the day when we can get back together and share our passion for woodworking. In the meantime, Bob Stevenson, our own Cartouche Award Recipient, has offered to present a power point presentation of one of his more recent projects, Reproducing A John & Thomas Seymour Ladies Worktable. [/size]We have scheduled this event on May 1st, 2021 at 10:00 am, California time. There will be no charge for Bob’s presentation and will be one to two hours, including questions and answers. Reproducing A John & Thomas Seymour Ladies WorktableBob Stevenson Southern California Chapter SAPFMThis table, currently in a private collection, is shown in Robert Massey’s, “The Furniture Master Works of John & Thomas Seymour, Catalog entry 80. The table is one of two of a kind made by the Seymours about 1800 in Boston, MA. All of the case sides are unique in that they are all veneered the same to resemble drawers. Although the table looks simple in form, it has remarkable interesting, complicated neoclassical inlay. Bob will discuss and demonstrate by way of video conference his approach in building a reproduction of this top of the mark piece of furniture of the period. The lecture will include several videos to demonstrate techniques. Some of the topics are: Making Banding Inlay Technics Turning Hammer Veneering Upholstery Technics Finishing
