Society of American Period Furniture Makers Rock River Valley Chapter
We have been invited to a residence in Lake Forest, Illinois, to view a personal collection of Shaker furniture that has been acquired over the years. The collection also includes some pieces by George Nakashima and a few pieces by Sam Maloof. Viewing of the furniture pieces and discussion about their history and how they were acquired should take about an hour.
The date will be Thursday, September 15, 2016. We will meet at a local restaurant at 10:30 a.m. and car pool to the residence because of a lack of parking space. We should be back at the restaurant around noon for lunch, a business meeting, and maybe show and tell.
The cost for lunch and room rental will be determined by the number of members and their guests that attend. The tour will be limited to a total of twenty people.
I need to know if you are interested in attending as soon as possible before the final details can be worked out.
