Here is a picture from our 7 day desk class which ended today. We had 3 participants with two instructors covering this Winchester Virginia desk and 13 secret compartments. wwotsv.com

Ah, I would've liked to have been in this class as well.  Well, perhaps I'll be able to do so in the future.  Are you using the technique from your recent FWW article to add quarter columns on this desk?

Mark, With a mix of hand tools and modern we try to cover as many aspects as possible of how we might go about constructing each piece we offer. We did cover what was in the article but that is just one way to produce the same effect. I have to say I took away a number of ideas from our participants also. If you stop learning you stop living.

The class was alot of fun and I learned alot as well. Jeff and Steve are great instructors and have alot of knowledge in furniture making. They have been lucky enough to have had hands on experiance with original pieces, and know alot about original construction.

I also learned alot of little techniques that after the fact seemed obvious, but before I saw them had never occurded to me. Jeff and Steve have all of the knowledge from a 3rd generation cabinet shop. They taught how to use machines to assist with construction, but still show that hand tools have a place in a modern shop. They make no comprimises on quality and were happy to share thre knowledge, and it was a pleasure to spend a week with them.

I hope to take many more classes in the future!
