The Lone Star Chapter met on June 2, 2007 at the home of Malcolm Granberry, in Houston, Texas.  Malcolm (pictured below)  took us step by step through the construction and finishing of a Philadelphia game table and answered any and all question concerning  this project.  The particular table that Malcolm chose to reproduce is described in the book "Objects of Desire: The lives of Antiques and Those Who Pursue Them" by Thatcher Freund as the "Willing" game table.  Malcolm's knowledge of the subject and love of the craft is reflected in his work.

After the lunch break, we were treated to seeing some of the other period furniture that Malcolm has made including a complete dining room.  Malcolm has been making period furniture for about thirty years and has a vast and impressive body of work.

Thanks Malcolm, for a great and informative meeting!  Job well done!

I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome our newest Lone Star member, Bob Wiemer.  Bob is an accomplished woodworker and silversmith.
