Topics and speakers are as follows:

Evolution of period furniture finishes ? Marion Smith

Design and making of a medallion oval in the Federal style - Henry Randal and Eva Nankeli. Eva will demonstrate how to make the oval including cutting, lay-up, sand shading and assembly.

Federal Style inlaying: tools and techniques - Ronnie Young.  Discuss and demonstrate techniques of Federal style inlays, how they were made and tools used to install them.

Newport block front chest construction - Jay Stallman.  Jay will discuss construction details and problems encountered and solutions derived.

Carving a Newport convex shell - David Coker/Ken Johnson.  Discuss variations in design, attribution to various makers, and demonstrate key aspects of carving the shell.

There is no charge for this meeting.  As such we are also allowing visitors to attend.  The SAPFM unofficial policy is you can bring a guest one time.  After that, they must join SAPFM to attend future meetings or events.

As before, we are encouraging all participants to sign up in advance if there is any chance you will attend.  Since there are no fees and we are allowing visitors, there is a good chance we will reach the seating limit of the room.  We are limiting attendance to 40 to allow for show and tell, and to better see the demonstrations.

Show and Tell - Bring any work you would like to share.  The project can be complete and in any phase of completion.  Photos are welcome.  Please bring a cd or flash drive with your photos and we will have a slide show at lunch.

We have over 40 people registered.

All attendees are requested to bring samples of their work, projects in progress and any other items of interest.

See you soon.
