The Peach State Chapter of SAPFM (Society of American Period Furniture - www.sapfm.org ) is please to offer a FREE summer symposium on August 10-11 at Woodcraft of Atlanta. More info on Peach State SAPFM is available at www.peachstatesapfm.info .
The format will be for Saturday and Sunday we will have a major presentation in the morning and another in the afternoon. Shorter presentations will be given throughout the day. In addition, we will have demonstrations taking place in the store.
Currently we have the following schedule of activities:
Small Box construction
Constructing a high style secretary
Demilune table comparison and contrast three makers
Introductory relief carving workshop (limited to 14 participants) (sign up required) Tool list will be provided
Rubio bench building experience with Steve Quehl
Wood identification
Demos will include
Newport convex shell carving
Inlay and stringing in the Federal style
Dovetail drawers by hand
Hand tool use
Sharpening
And it is all FREE!!! There is a sign-up required for the introductory carving class with a list of required tools to bring.
