Due to the cancellation of our guest speaker, and other scheduling challenges, we have decided to not have a Fall 2013 SAPFM meeting for the Chesapeake chapter. But the meetings for 2014 are booked and scheduled already. Here is the information for next years meetings:

Maryland, our featured presenter will be Christopher Schwarz, well-known author of The Anarchist's Toolchest and co-owner of the Lost Art Press publishing company.  In addition, Chris will be conducting a one week workshop at the Woodworkers Club on Building the Anarchist's Toolchest on May 5-9, 2014.  Check out the Woodworkers Club website for more class details and to enroll.

  • Christopher Schwarz is the former editor of Popular Woodworking Magazine, where he worked between 1996 and 2011. He is now a contributing editor to that magazine. He also serves as a contributing editor to The Fine Tool Journal and has produced several DVDs in conjunction with Lie-Nielsen Toolworks on traditional skills.

Fall 2014 Meeting | Saturday, November 1st | Guest Speaker: George Walker

For our Fall 2014 Chesapeake SAPFM Chapter Meeting at the Woodworkers Club in Rockville. • George Walker has been an enthusiastic woodworker for over thirty years and a writer for much of that time. His latest project is the book By Hand & Eye co-written with Jim Tolpin and published by Lost Art Press. By Hand & Eye is a primer on unlocking your ability to visualize using time honored classical methods to train the eye. Currently he is hosting a series of instructional DVD’s for Lie-Nielsen Toolworks covering furniture design basics. He also pens a column for Popular Woodworking Magazine titled “Design Matters”, and hosts a furniture design blog with the same name. In addition he has written for American Period Furniture, Fine Woodworking, and Woodcraft Magazine.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday, and we will see you in the Spring.
