It's been nearly a year in production (most of which time I got to sit back and watch other people do the hard work. It was only at the end that I had to get up off my butt and actually do anything concrete) but now it's Alive.

Walter Jacob's new book on Stanley Woodworking Tools is available through Amazon. It's published by The Early American Industries Association. I was just sort of the book producer or technical adviser or something riding herd on the people doing the work. This is the first book of it's kind. Walter is one of the top experts on Stanley tools. For years he has been writing articles for The Chronicle of the EAIA on the history of Stanley tools and producing Type Studies. This book compiles all of his articles, totally reformatted and indexed for clarity and research.

Full disclosure: I don't make a cent on this. I get one free copy and that's it.

$24.95 from Amazon or pretty much any online bookseller because it's distributed by Ingram, the biggest book distributor in the US. We expect it to show up in book and mortar stores in time too.

Patty Macleish, the editor of The Chronicle did a bang up job of reformating each and every page and updating all the images. Wesley Tanner, a professional and highly regarded book and book cover designer did the cover, gratis. I bothered people to no end.

Do yourself a favor and buy this book. Even if you think you don't like hand tools, it's still a fascinating book on the history of tools.
