Hi Jeff.  Enjoyed the article on quarter columns.  The clock in the article is beautiful.  Any way I could get plans or reference for soemthing similar so I could buuild my own version? I don't know that my suburban home will work with a clock that big (looks like it might be 8' or so?).  I may do a 3/4 scale version or something like that.  Troube is finding the works that would with it scaled down.  Anyway, nice article and clock.

Thanks,

Tony, Thanks for the comments. The quarter columns could easily be converted to a federal chamfered corner also. The height restriction should not be a worry. I know of a few clocks made ( in the same school) if not the same maker, that will fit under an 8' ceiling with the same size works or actually to be more correct the same size face. The case would only need a few adjustments. Please let me know if I may be of further help with this project, Jeff

So, who made this clock originally?  Are there plans available or at least a few dimensions?  I'd like to try and build one someday.  I've got the FWW articel open on my desk at home and every time I walk by it catches my eye.  Very nice design and execution.

Thanks,

Tony

Tony, The clock picture is mostly a Shenandoah Valley clock with a few extra Philadelphia features. I do have drawings and a limited CD of construction photos. E-mail me and we can discuss what I have and what you might need.
