How to lighten wood dyed not stained?

My first time using wood dye I made a mistake and coated it twice, is there a way to lighten this so the tiger maple is more visible?

I have not had that problem, but try washing the wood with distilled water. Then dry it with a clean towel/rag.

If its water stain, you can pull some out with water as per the previous response.  Or...Industrial two part wood bleach might work.  Good paint sores will carry it.  Or muscle power...sand it.

But even if you coated it twice, it may not go that darker?

I still have the dye and will look to see if it is water based. I built this piece about 4-5 years ago. The finish is basically oil. I was advised that when using dye (this was the first time) it will look bad when first applied. It did look bad so I did another coat; what a mistake. Other pieces that I have made out of tiger maple look great; they all only have basically oil finishes with no stain or dye. The remainder of the wood is almost dark enough to hide the tiger strips
Ooops.
