GREAT LAKES CHAPTER OCTOBER 2010
MEETING AGENDA
Great Lakes Chapter October Meeting-Agenda has been set for Saturday and Sunday, October 30th & 31st, 2010 at the Livonia Senior Center, Livonia, Michigan. This meeting will be free to all SAPFM dues paying members. There will be a charge of $5 per person. This will cover Saturday and Sunday's pop, coffee, pastries, water, rental fee and snacks.
We will be having lunch at a restaurant (Sam's Place) next to the Senior Center.
I'm looking forward to this meeting. It is always a pleasure to meet everyone and share our knowledge.

SATURDAY, October 30, 2010
1. Open doors at 10am. Arrive, relax and have some coffee.
2. Demonstrations:
3. 10:30-11:00am. Bruce Beck will give a report on 2010 Mid-Year Conference.
4. 11:00-12 noon Steve Lash will give a presentation on his latest project.
5. 12 noon-1pm. Lunch. The restaurant (Sam's Place) next to the Senior Center.
6. 1:00pm-2:45pm Keith Mengel will give a demonstration on the construction of shaker boxes
7. 2:45-4:00pm. Justin Kauffman will present three methods of fluting a quarter column, using a shaper, router and lathe, and the scraper method. Justin will also talk about his experience when he attended the North Bennet Street School.
8. 4-5pm. Bill Vetter will talk about Design proportioning and modeling to the size YOU want.
9. Dinner at Bennigan's restaurant.
Dinner starts at 5:30pm.The restaurant is at Bennigans. There will be maps for directions to the restaurant at the meeting.
SUNDAY, October 31st, 2010
10. 9am-10am. Ed Stuckey will present different techniques to stain and finish mahogany.
11. 10am-11am. John Fitzpatrick will give a presentation on different types of glues. Their uses and the pros and cons of each type.
12. 11am-12noon. Wrap up. Ideas for the next meeting and members who will volunteer to be presenters.
