GREAT LAKES CHAPTER APRIL 2010
MEETING AGENDA


Great Lakes Chapter October Meeting-Agenda has been set for Saturday and Sunday, April 24th & 25th, 2010 at the Livonia Senior Center, Livonia, Michigan. This meeting will be free to all SAPFM dues paying members. There will be a charge of $5 per person. This will cover Saturday and Sunday's pop, coffee, pastries, water, rental fee and snacks.
We will be having lunch at a restaurant (Sam's Place) next to the Senior Center.
I'm looking forward to this meeting. It is always a pleasure to meet everyone and share our knowledge.

SATURDAY, April 24th, 2010
1. Open doors at 10am. Arrive, relax and have some coffee.
2. Demonstrations: Meeting Theme is sharpening. Bill Vetter will have his Worksharp and Ed Stuckey will bring his Tormeck. This will be a hands on event so please bring chisels, plane blades, etc. to practice on. Besides sharpening machines there will be traditional stones available.
3. 10:30-11:00am.  Bruce Beck will give a report on 2010 Williamsburg Conference.
4. 11:00-12 noon Trevor Smith will give a presentation on sharpening. Trevor gives classes on sharpening at Woodcraft  
5. 12 noon-1pm. Lunch. The restaurant (Sam's Place) next to the Senior Center.
6. 1:00pm-2:00pm.   Ed Stuckey will demonstrate how to sharpen carving tools.
7. 2:00-3:00pm. Mike Holden will demonstrate scraper sharpening.
8. 3:00-3:30pm. Pictures of members work.
9. 3:30-4:00pm. Rich Eschebach will present the construction of the Tall Case clock he recently built.
10. 4:00-5:00pm. Chris Tenney will give a demonstration on making and how to use scratch stock.
11. Dinner at Bennigan's restaurant.
   Dinner starts at 5:30pm.The restaurant is at Bennigans. There will be maps for directions to the restaurant at the meeting.

SUNDAY, April 25th, 2010
12. 9:00-12 noon. A visit to Eric Blom’s workshop and then on to Mike Wolfe shop who is a blacksmith and will be demonstrating how to make tools. Mike is a woodworker as well as an accomplished blacksmith.
