We have an exciting year ahead of in 2012 in the Peach State SAPFM.

We have confirmed our spring and fall events -- Al Breed and Steve Latta.

Al Breed will be here February 19-22.  He will be focused on period construction techniques and the use of hand tools to accomplish these techniques.  Al is a well recognized period furniture expert.  When the Keno brothers needed a copy of a John Townsend tea table, they sent the original to Al to copy.

Please take a moment to look at his modest bio ( I know much more he has done) at http://www.allanbreed.com/page/about-allan .  The session will be 1.5 days presentation to the larger group, and 2.5 days hands on activity with had tools and period construction applications.

Get set for next fall.  Steve Latta.  Need I say more to those interested in Federal style furniture, inlay or Marquetry.  Author of many articles, DVD presentations and a line of inlay related tools, Steve is at the top of his game in the area of inlay work.  He will be here Oct 6-8, 2012.  Exact details are not confirmed, but he will be discussing the Georgetown sideboard featured in the recent Fine Woodworking.  This will be a presentation to the larger group.  A hands on workshop will focus on creating a Baltimore style Federal leg with complete ornamentation and will available for a smaller group.  Steve is a full time professor at Thaddeus Stevens School of Technology in Lancaster, PA which makes it that much harder to book him for events such as ours.  We are lucky to be able to pull this off.

Below is a brief bio from Fine Woodworking:

Both Al and Steve are considered the best in their respective fields and also great communicators and instructors.

A detailed description of the Al Breed event and registration information will be out in early December.  The Steve Latta registration will be in August or September of next year.
